So once you know your colour theme you can then start searching for bridesmaid dresses. Before you get started, think about who will be paying for the dresses, shoes, hair, nails, makeup etc. If you want your bridesmaids to pay, than think about the price your expecting them to spend. Good rule of thumb is if their wedding was coming up, how much would you be comfortable spending.
There are many different ways you can go about organising the bridesmaids dresses:
- Pick one colour from your theme and have same dress for all bridesmaids
- Pick one colour from your theme and have a different dress for all bridesmaids
- Pick several colours from your theme but the same dress for all bridesmaids
- Let bridesmaids choose their own dress within your colour theme
Word of warning, be wary of Bridezilla rearing it’s ugly head when searching for bridesmaid dresses. While you may have in your mind the perfect outfit for your bridesmaids, they may not agree. They will be the ones to wear the dresses so it’s best to think about a compromise. You want your bridesmaids to feel comfortable on the day. Remember, even if you are not, people can be sensitive about their looks and you need to accomodate what will work for them also.
As with the wedding dress shopping, don’t just settle for buying bridesmaid dresses in store. You can get a dressmaker to make them or even go online with your bridesmaids to choose a design.
